The Craft

Every Lets Earth piece begins the same way ours always has, by hand, in Rajasthan.

In Bagru, our dabu artisans work in a technique passed down for four hundred years. A wooden block, carved by hand, presses a resist paste of mud, lime and gum onto cotton. Where the paste sits, the dye cannot reach. It is a printing process that works by blocking colour, not applying it, and it is unforgiving of shortcuts. In Sanganer, our hand screen printers work a different, equally exacting discipline, layering colour by hand, screen by screen, until the motif is complete.

Every velvet piece is sun-dried, not machine-finished. The sun deepens the colour in a way no controlled process can replicate, and it means every length of fabric carries a little of the day it was made on.

None of this is fast, and none of it is meant to be. When the monsoon arrives each year, the studio stops. Not by choice, but because the process itself needs what the monsoon takes away, sun, dry air, still hands. The artisans rest, the blocks rest, and the work resumes when the sky clears.

We chose this pace on purpose. It is slower than the industry around us, and it is the only way we know to make something worth keeping.

The Origin

From the Himalayas to the Coast.

For over two decades, our founder Kinara built a career in the fast-paced world of luxury hospitality, curating five-star experiences and managing corporate timelines across continents. Beneath the momentum, there was always a quieter pull, toward something slower, more grounded, more real.

That pull traces back to Darjeeling, where Kinara grew up waking to the Kanchenjunga range, and developed an early reverence for nature and for the beauty of generational craft. There is an undeniable soul in things made by human hands, and she never stopped noticing it.

Life took her across continents, refining her eye for design and spatial curation, until she found her second home in Australia. Here, surrounded by a quiet, earthy landscape, the idea for Lets Earth finally took shape. She left the corporate world to build a different kind of luxury, one measured in time, intention, and heritage, rather than speed.

"I have always been moved by how people express themselves through their spaces, how they curate objects that tell their story. I felt a responsibility to bring together the two worlds I love: the centuries-old heritage of Indian artisans, and the quiet, earthy beauty of modern Australian living."— Kinara
